What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in a comparable way. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we need your consent for any cookie or storage that is not strictly necessary to provide the service you ask for.
Strictly necessary cookies and storage
These are essential for the site to work and do not require consent:
- cf_session (cookie): keeps you signed in. Secure, HTTP-only, expires after 7 days or when you sign out.
- cf_cookie_consent (local storage): remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask on every visit.
- cf_next (session storage): remembers which page to return you to after signing in. Cleared when you close the tab.
- Legacy saved-leads storage (local storage): only present if you saved companies before creating an account; removed once you import them.
Optional analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how the site is used, only if you select “Accept all” or switch analytics on in your cookie settings. It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<ID> (up to 2 years) and processes usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location and device information. If you reject optional cookies, Google Analytics is not loaded. We do not use advertising cookies.
Third-party content
ClientFinch does not embed third-party advertising or social media widgets. Links to external sites, such as Companies House, are subject to those sites’ own cookie policies.
Managing your choices
You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in from working.
